Hannah is 20 months! Each month is getting harder to keep up with because there's so much to write about. I'm so proud that she is continuing to grow and learn. She has always loved books. One of her favorites is "We're Going on a Bear Hunt." One day she picked up the book and began "reading" it out loud. When the characters in the book got to the river, Hannah would say "Splish, Splash!" and use her arms to make movements of splashing through the water. When she got to the bear part of the book she would say "Beeeaaaarrr!" using her scared face. I was lucky to get it on video. Hannah has a lot of favorites this month. She likes to water the potted flowers for me, plays with and kisses her baby doll, loves on her "blankey," loves listening to kid songs in the car and asks for more every time the song ends, pulls on mama and daddy's leg to take us somewhere, and starts to play hide and seek, but mostly hiding. Hannah has started to use 2 word phrases. Her favorite things to say this month are: big truck, hug you, hold you, help please, and kiss it. She even said "It was good," after eating yogurt one morning and "Mama get a banana." Hannah has also started to recognize colors. Although she is still working on it, she will tell you the colors of something when you ask. A lot of times we will get the color blue for everything, but then she will think about it and change her mind to be right. This month we said good-bye to the high chair. Hannah is finally big enough to use a booster seat.
This month summer officially started. I made a calendar of activities to help keep us busy. Each day of the week has a theme. Mondays are do something messy. Tuesday is library day. Wednesday is make something in the kitchen. Thursday is a planned water activity and Friday is a go somewhere day. In the pictures below you can see some of the things we've done. So far we've made sidewalk paint, play-doh, strawberry sherbet, lemonade. We've painted with paintsicles (frozen paint in ice cube tray) and played with a water wall. We've gone to the book store, park, and to the lake to feed the ducks. Hannah has also gone to art class and swim class this month. We've done lots of fun things so far and there's lots more planned too!
